the lift
This Sunday is the day the indoor park gets the annual clearing. That means every ramp has to be moved out of the building, with everything done by volunteers. Your help is needed. Yes, YOU!
Volunteers so far on the list:
Noel
I’ve got a maybe from C-Mac and Fernandez
Taylor is in
The ROSS-inator is down
CRAZYHORSE
Mikey is claimin’
That’s it. There will be a forklift, so the labour isn’t crazy intensive, but we do need heads. If you are able to help out for this, by all means, email me. Thanks in advance.

Photography workshop

From the one and only, Mr. Owen Woytowich:

“I’m holding a photo workshop on Saturday the 29th here in Saskatoon. If you know any aspiring photogs out there, could you spread the word? What’s gonna happen is on Saturday, I do my little turtorial thingy with the locals at the park. The photogs get to develop some skills and what not, but more importantly, they can develop a working relationship with the dudes they snap photos of that day. Also though, their assignment is to get a crew together for the following Sunday and I’ll give each photog ONE roll of film and they have 24 hours to shoot it. They can go where ever the heck their little hearts take them too, and after it’s done, I take the rolls in and pick the best one. Winner gets bragging rights and some prizes if I can round some up. It’ll be Saskatoon’s Go Skateboard Media Day. Just something to get everyone involved.”

That’s right. All the lucky guys who qualified in the local DC contests will be converging on Regina’s indoor park on Saturday, July 22nd, 2006 to compete for the National contest to be held at Slam City Jam. Come out to see the talent or heckle the talentless! Should be fun!

Thanks to DC Shoes for holding this annual event…

In related news, this event will mark the close of the indoor park for the rest of the summer. It will likely re-open in September.

Banner contest.

We’re tired of the same old up top here, so for any of you feeling artsy, we’re going to have a contest to see who can come up with the best banner for the Tiki website. The winner gets something. Glory? Brown grip for life? Droopy swellbow? We’ll figure that out later. Until then, your only stipulation is the dimensions: 760 pixels wide, 119 pixels high. Good luck.
