We’re #1.

Something that most of Southern Saskatchewan (actually- fuck it- let’s just say Western Canada) has known for some time has finally been confirmed by the internet giant Google. Some people pay for this, but we’ve earned it. You are currently reading the number one ranked site on Google for “Tiki Room“.

NOTE: unless you’re a nerd like me, this post has likely been the least significant part of your day.

Hey Liam…

Hustler

Remember when there was a link to the Tiki Room website published at the end of a steamy skateboarding article in the Canadian issue of Hustler magazine? I remember a certain customer bringing this into the store, then thinking, “Nice detective work, Dana.”

That issue hung around the store for a while, but mysteriously disappeared…

We’re calling it quits.

Many of you have likely been wonder what the hell has been the delay with:

a) the banner contest

b) the new outdoor park

c) the indoor park opening

Here is what is happening:

a) Priorities, baby. Times are busy. Spring order deadlines have been hitting me like mad. Back to school was nutty, and there are some renos going down at the shop. I also put my son in school. Throw some websites in there, and “Voila!”. I’ll get to it. Eventually.

b) Some land swapping issues have to be ironed out before anything moves forward. We might be skating it by next summer… if you’re lucky.

c) Ahhhh…. the indoor park. See point #1 to understand my free time as of late. What was initially going to be a “move ‘em in and resurface ‘em” turned into a “well what if we did this here- and then we could do that there”. Dismantling, recycling, and designing on-the-fly have resulted in delays. For those that loved the up-gap, our condolences. But really: there are only so many days left to skate outside anyway. Get some fresh air while you can. Look for new things to skate when the indoor re-opens (likely before this coming long weekend). And if you know how to use a drill and won’t forget your brain at home, email me to see when the next building session is going to be.

In the meantime, you should check out the Chronicles of Piff Huxtable. Thanks to SkateDaily for the link (again).
