DC Nationals Regional Qualifier

June 23rd, 2008 by admin

The Tiki Room is hosting the Saskatchewan qualifiers for the DC Nationals. This event will be held at the NEW SKATE PLAZA on July 5th, 2008. This is open to all ages.

All competitors must pre-register, and have waiver forms for the event. This is MANADATORY. We’ll turn you away if you don’t have your shit together, even if you drove all the way from Prince Albert. Don’t get your friend to sign your waiver around the corner either. We’ve been around the block. We know what’s up. /bitter rant

Anyway, you can download the forms here, print ‘em off. Come on down and see us at the shop if you don’t have a printer.

Registration starts at 12:00 noon, and the event starts at 1:00pm. It should be crazy busy, as there were no local events this year- meaning that all of Saskatchewan is coming to this event. Yikes! See you there!

Time to Whine

June 21st, 2008 by trent

I’m having chest pains (from skating) ouch! and I think I’m going deaf (from music)…  what!

I need a good sign for the east end bank ledge and I gotta remember to bring ear plugs to shows.

Later.

I have a dream…

June 21st, 2008 by noel

Actually, I had a dream.

My great Grandmother (RIP) was security at the new skatepark. She was claiming that there wouldn’t be security at the park the night after we spoke with her, and that the construction guys were leaving the site to go and work on the other new park.

I wish that was a real life scenario…

Happy “Go Skateboarding Day”…

Ever had no where to skate in the winter?

June 18th, 2008 by admin

Looks like the indoor park’s days may be numbered. The funding for the Ipsco Place expansion has come through, meaning the future of an indoor facility in Regina is in limbo.

If anyone knows of a building suitable for a shit load of sweaty kids for the winter, please let us know.

skate ticket

June 16th, 2008 by dave

So today was my court date for skateboarding what a waste of time. The reason I had to be there was just to enter my plea, obviously I would plea not guilty if I was taking my ticket to court. It’s such a waste of money to have court dates just to set up another court date. This could be dealt with already but instead I have to wait two more weeks.

So I was at the Plan B demo in Vancouver this weekend…

June 16th, 2008 by noel

The Plan B demo was at Tswassen. Looks like a fun little park. The whole team minus Duffy and Danny Way were there. The demo was kind of crazy, but not like the intro of Virtual Reality crazy. More like “What the fuck is going on here” type of crazy. The guy to girl ratio was about even. If you’ve been to a demo, you know that’s bizarre. The ladies (average age : 13 – much to the delight of McCoubrey) were there to see non other than Mr. Hollywood himself, Sheckybunny. It sounded like a fucking New Kids on the Block concert (this is an assumption- I’m not a NKOTB fan). Shit was weird.

Kev was loving this shit. The only guy in sight.

There were about 20 t-shirts like this, and an equal number of signs. Craze.

If you went to the Saskatoon Plan B demo, you know how fucking good and consistent P-Rod is. Switch varial heel.

Considering there was a twelve year old hanging off his dick every time he wasn’t rolling, Sheckler did some tricks. Fakie flip.

More P-Rod destruction. Switch tre.

I had some pics of J-Rog and Sacha Daley, but they sucked, so I didn’t bother posting them. Wenning did some shit but isn’t a demo star. Dude keeps it real. PJ was actually there, but posted up in the Van after trying ten tricks or so. Oh- also Gallant was ripping, and wearing DC’s. For me to say Gallant was ripping is hard, as I’m not the biggest fan… Descenzo was there too. Kids pretty good.

I was going to post a pic of myself and someone from Regina on here, but I’m pretty sure his parole officer wouldn’t be stoked on that too much, so you’ll have to use your imagination. Thanks to Rory and Moses for flying me out there. Much appreciated. Word to Kev for hooking me up with a couch.

This one’s for you C-Mac:
