Maloof

July 14th, 2008 by noel

The Maloof Money Cup was this weekend, and aside from what was likely the most fucking annoying camera work EVER, there were some real gems in there (when the cameras were actually on the skaters- note to Maloof: fire the dude in charge of changing camera angles). Busenitz killed the place with creativity. Not the hugest fan of Nyjah, but the kid landed way more shit and was more consistent than most of the other pros (is his name on a board?). TK – seriously why we he even in the mix? P-Rod actually killed the rail set up, blandness and all. But the highlight: I seriously love when people skate shit in a way that was never intended (Busenitz anyone?). Leo Romero’s clip below (from robbrink.com) reminds us to shred EVERYTHING. Let your mind wander, and get out of the skate textbook (P-Rod anyone?)…

Sidenote: Holmes should not have been announcing. Straight up. Dude is a legend and all, but when things like Dompierre’s touque falling off stir quips like “I remember when my hair…” you know you should have hired someone relevant. The Darrell/TK slip during the rail session was wack too.

Bonus material: the rail session.

skate tickets

July 12th, 2008 by dave

Well I still have to pay my ticket, but only if I had known the police had A whole undercover sting operation set up to give out skateboarding tickets that day. Really! undercover plain clothed officers in vic park keeping in contact with officers handing out tickets that day. Not trying to bust the cheesy gangst kids trying to sell weed, or even to bust the people I could see getting drunk in the park before noon but to focus solely on giving out tickets for skateboarding. And I thought I was doing A pretty decent job of wasting time and money by dragging out a skateboarding ticket through two court dates but the Regina police force has me bet by a long shot for wasting time and money you guys are doing a great job keep up the good work.

Text Messaging

July 11th, 2008 by noel

Alright kids. Enough is enough. Get those gadgets out of your hands and TALK to someone. Texting drives me nuts- especially when it’s midway through a transaction at the shop. IT CAN WAIT. I tried getting a booster juice from the Southland Mall one day, and some little girl working there was texting someone WHILE ringing up my order. Listen to my order. Text. Place my order. Text. Take my money. Text. Give me my change. Text. Make my drink. This is no exaggeration. I wish slapping folks wouldn’t land you in the clink.

Anyway, the texting epidemic is getting crazy- here is proof:

littering

July 10th, 2008 by c-mac

The last night and tonight that I have gone to the plaza I have notice that there is bottles ,cups, and other grabage all over the gound. Noel , Ryan ,Travis and myself  spent about five minutes each night picking up the trash and putting in the one of TWO trash cans at are at the park. The point that I am making is that we were very lucking in get the plaza park and at least we should do is respect the park and the area around it! So next time you are at the park and you are done with your bottles, cups, and grabage PLEASE throw it in the grabge can!!!!!

Hey hey hey hey ______ ____ everyday

July 10th, 2008 by dillon

It has been sometime since my last post.  Me posting is somewhat of a similar situation as our new skate park was in before we got it built, meaning if I didn’t have Noel on my ass about it, it probably would never have happened.  If you see that old ass skatin around the new park, give him a hi five, a pat on the back or ass if your name is Derek Kater and say “thanks for making this happen, buddy.”  Dude busted his ass for years to make this happen so you and your punk friends could skate around with your heads in the clouds gettin in my goddamn way.  Never the less, if you are reading this it means you probably are indeed skateboarding at the park and probably not riding your bike or some other piece that wasn’t meant to be used at our park.  If you see one of these mofo’s who aren’t gettin in where they fittin in, kindly point your finger to the west and tell em : “the bike trail is that way.”  Another point that I feel must be touched upon is redheaded kids dying their hair, usually black, to hide that embarrassing ginger gene.  If you have one of special types of people as a friend you know exactly what I’m talkin about, and probably find it as funny as I do.  Also, if you seen me at the park, don’t come up to me asking for a sip of my water or any of my chips because that stuff ain’t for you.  If you impress me and I offer you a chip, you may take one.  Also try and avoid eye contact with me and asking me to pull you smokes or booze.  Thats all for now, see you at the hottest place in Saskatchewan this summer, and if you think I’m talkin about Craven, do me a favor and take all the pills in your parents medicine cabinet and drink em down with your favorite hard alcohol.

Happy Birthday… Canada… not the new park…

July 1st, 2008 by admin

Of course everyone was thinking that the new park would be open on this day. However, if you happen to go to the new park this Friday after supper, there’s a good chance you’ll be ripping. Doing so before hand may not be a good idea- we heard a rumor about a guy getting arrested this week for skating there…

I can’t blame the guy for wanting to give it a go though.. HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW PARK LATELY?
