How much is that kind of hypocrisy worth your legitimacy? Well thats just sad you try and promote one thing and do the complete opposite. Berra you should be ashamed of yourself. BERRA is the man and has done alot for skateboarding, If shops want to advertise there stuff on the most popular skateboarding site in the world go for it for a price lower then big business like Quiksilver or whatever it’s a good idea and is in no ways bad. I would be hyped if Tiki were advertised on it and as far as I see they advertised only small skateshops on the site so far, no West 49′s or big business skateshops. Berra keeps it as core as it can get.
You must of missed half of what I posted. Why would he advertise that he has a deal to only sell to west 49 in canada that would make him look like an idiot. Thats the reason I posted anything, on the surface it would look like he is trying to help but when he does the total opposite its hard to believe.
In my opinion, Berra HAS made a fair contribution to skateboarding, I will give him that… But making an EXCLUSIVE deal in Canada to have The Berrics distributed through West 49 and ONLY through West 49 is the furthest away a ‘legit’ organization can get from being ‘as core as it can get.’ It was only a matter of time.
i haven’t seen any advertisements for exclusive berrics stuff going to west 49 and there appears to be only small skateshops advertised on the unified site. so when are there going be bangin stickers in west 49 or chris cole berrics decks in there.??
They already have berrics stuff there. Look I don’t want to sound rude but you missed the point in it’s entirety, there is nothing wrong with making money on advertising or even selling to west 49. The problem is he’s saying one thing and doing the opposite and thats what pisses me off.
I understand your point and wasn’t aware they actually sell berrics stuff at West 49 yet or many places besides on the site.(I don’t live in Regina anymore or a place with a West 49) I am quite surprised he would do that actually but at the same time West 49 is all acros Canada unlike any other skateshops out there so selling your product there insures that The Berric’s gear is going to be seen by people all across the country and bought. I would think from a business point of view it would be retarded to pass up that deal and it is naive that any company would say no to it. The Berrics Unified I think is a counterbalance to only being able to get The Berrics stuff at West 49.(although it is unfortunate that I can’t go to a real skateshop and buy it)

There are skateboard distributors in Canada (that are owned by skateboarders) that didn’t even get an offer to distribute Berrics stuff. These distributors sell to shops all over Canada (and even to West 49). This is the issue. An exclusive deal with West 49, a large corporate chain, without even offering their stuff to the real deal in Canada. Berrics stuff would still be seen across Canada if an option of a Canadian distributor had been explored.
yes and this is unfortunately given the circumstances I would like to go into a core shop and buy berrics stuff rather then step foot in west 49 for any reason. But I do not see his new system as not being completely hypicritical. He did say in the video “to level the playing field” which is kinda what it is to a extent.
